The World Orchestra presents this Summer 2008 a chamber music project by soloists of The World Orchestra touring Spain and three different symphonic programs to be performed in Canada, which will be conducted by maestro Franz Paul Decker and maestro Josep Vicent.
The World Orchestra will arrive on the 27th of July at Orford centre d’Arts to prepare three different symphonic programs which will be performed in Orford Festival. Apart from Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Josep Vicent, in this occasion The World Orchestra will also be conducted by Guest maestro Franz Paul Decker. Musicians will also have the opportunity to work with some prestigious international soloists as cellist Laurence Lesser (USA), violinist Masuko Ushioda (Japan), pianist Iván Martín (Spain) and soprano Marianne Fiset (Canada).
Maestro Decker will conduct ‘Chanson du matin, Chanson de nuit’ and ‘Salut d’amour’ by Elgar, 'Sinfonische Metamorphosen’ by Hindemith, ‘Double Concerto for violin, cello and orchestra’ and 'Hungarian Dances’ by Brahms. Maestro Josep Vicent will be in charge of the other two programs that include Ravel’s ‘Concerto in G for piano and orchestra’, Turina’s ‘Canto a Sevilla’ Prokofiev’s ‘Classical Symphony’, Adams’ ‘The Chairman Dances’ a selection of Falla’s ‘El Sombrero de Tres Picos’ and three world premières by Spanish composers: ‘O Bali’ by J. Evangelista, ‘GP, f-1’ by A.Valero and ‘Overture Release’ by J. Vicent. The different programs will be presented at Orford Arts Music Festival on August 9th, August 15th and August 16th.
Chamber music session
Before travelling to Canada, soloists of The World Orchestra will tour Valencian region (Spain) with a Chamber music project called The World Orchestra Wind Quintet. From the 10th of July to the 26th the group will show in Spain their high quality playing pieces by J. Ibert, S. Barber, F. Farkás, J. Francaix, G. Rossini, G.Bizzet and G. Jiménez.
