THE WORLD ORCHESTRA - AUDITIONS FOR THE SEASON 2009/2010

REQUISITES

   

  • Candidates must be aged between 18 (before July 1st 2009) and 28 (by December 31st  2009).
  • Musicians of all nationalities can apply to join the orchestra, but they must be able to apply for any visas required for their travel, should they need them.
  • The orchestra’s working language is English, so candidates must have an intermediate level of English.
  • Orchestra members may be invited to remain in the orchestra in successive sessions up to a maximum of three years, depending on the needs of the orchestra and provided that their work with the orchestra has been satisfactory and they are not older than 28.
  • All candidates must apply online on www.theworldorchestra.org before Sunday 30th of November 2008 (except those candidates who apply in Denmark and Switzerland, where the deadline is extended -check below-).
  • After applying online, all candidates will receive an email in the next ten working days explaining what to do next to complete the auditions process.

BELGIUM
Auditions on the 13th of December 2008 (Annex of The Conservatoire Royal)

Auditions on the 23rd of January 2009 in Aarhus Music Academy

SLOVENIA
Auditions on the 15th of December 2008 (Ljubljana)

SPAIN
Auditions on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of December 2008 in Alicante

IMPORTANT FOR SPANISH MUSICIANS: All Spanish musicians must take part in the auditions in Alicante. Recordings will be accepted in exceptional circumstances only and with previous consent of the auditions panel.

SWITZERLAND
Auditions on the 9th of January 2009 (Bienne Music School)

2.- AUDITIONS BY RECORDING

Musicians from countries where live auditions are not organised can audition by sending a video recording. The accepted formats are: DivX, MPEG3, MPEG4 or DVD PAL system zone 2. VHS and CD will not be accepted. The recording must be received in the offices of The World Orchestra in Valencia (Spain) not later than the 30th of January 2009.

IMPORTANT: The number of new places to be covered will depend on the quality of the auditions received this year.

FINAL AUDITIONS RESULTS: Audition results notification will be carried out via our website page and by phone from the 2nd of March 2009.
